Run for Research with Goshen Center for Cancer Care
GOSHEN, Ind. - Every jogging shoe that hits the pavement during Goshen Center for Cancer Care's Run for Research will help move cancer research forward - and every successful step made in cancer research is a step toward helping you or someone you love beat cancer.
Goshen Center for Cancer Care is inviting the community and area athletes to participate in the third annual Run for Research on Saturday Aug. 23. The race kicks off at 8 a.m. in the Goshen Center for Cancer Care parking lot, 200 High Park Ave., Goshen Ind.
"There are few people whose lives haven't been touched by cancer," said Dr. Doug Schwartzentruber, MD, FACS, and Medical Director of Goshen Center for Cancer Care "Many will be running on behalf of loved ones who are battling or have battled cancer in their lifetime. Everyone who participates is helping to promote awareness and help fund research that could someday help us put an end to this disease."
Proceeds raised at the Run for Research event will go to Goshen Center for Cancer Care's Research Program.
"We're dedicated to this annual event because of the good work it helps our doctors do. Cancer research leads to a better understanding of cancer and cancer treatment, said Dr. Schwartzentruber. "Goshen Center for Cancer Care has seen firsthand the impact clinical trials have made in improving cancer care. Cancer research is what is going to find cures, make a difference, and give us even greater knowledge to help not only those fighting cancer now, but who will be diagnosed with cancer in the future."
