The Goshen Center for Cancer Care

In 1999 Goshen Health System first introduced Goshen Center for Cancer Care to the community after recognizing the need for comprehensive cancer services in our region. Our dedicated facility has everything on-site, including physicians, clinicians, support staff and the latest equipment and technology needed to efficiently and thoroughly beat cancer. Unlike other cancer centers, our physicians work exclusively for us and are dedicated to our patients. We have created a unique environment where the patient is central to everything we do.

What We Do

The Center for Cancer Care provides medical, radiation, nuclear and surgical oncology, as well as naturopathic medicine. The Center for Cancer Care uses advanced technology that placed in the hands of our doctors becomes even more effective.  Our medical team works as an integrated team, carefully reviewing a patient's condition and needs to develop a plan that works best for the patient.

Our physicians and staff use a world-class, integrative and holistic care model, together with traditional cancer treatments like chemotherapy with treatments like acupuncture and naturopathy that focus on improving the entire health of a patient not just the cancer.

In 2006 the Center for Cancer Care handled nearly 500 analytical and 100 non-analytical cases.

The Cancer Center has received numerous awards, including the American College of Surgeons accolade in 2003, four more ACoS commendations in 2004 and received the Outstanding Achievement Award from ACoS in 2005,  distinctions shared with only 7 percent of eligible cancer hospitals in the United States.

Our  mission is to provide the best treatment and care available to patients and their families. The program is patient-focused, integrative, holistic and includes beyond state-of-the-art technology and research.

World Class Care

The technology that treats cancer does so much more when you put it in the right hands.

There are a handful of hospitals around the world that have immediate access to the most contemporary cancer treatment technology, the finest tools developed by leading manufacturers, put into place not only to save lives but to be pushed and tested, to see what their true capabilities might be.

Integrated Approach

When the challenge is cancer, traditional teamwork gives way to a practice that is far more aggressive.

Sports analogies abound when hospitals talk about their approach to treating cancer, with the word “teamwork” being most often heard. Driven by the latest communications technology, doctors and nurses share memos, care plans, test results, diagnoses and protocols faster and more easily than ever. This may be adequate for day-to-day medical challenges, but successful cancer treatment calls for something far more aggressive.

Holistic Healing

If cancer attacked only the body, comprehensive cancer treatments would focus solely on malignant cells.

When traditional medical professionals treat cancer, the focus is just that – the cancer, the tumor, the malignant group of cells that have invaded healthy tissue and spread. But cancer takes a toll that extends far beyond damaged tissue. While a handful of the nation’s leading cancer centers have the technology to precisely target and destroy cancerous cells – TomoTherapy and Selective Internal Radiation Therapy (SIRT), for example – treatment that is truly comprehensive now includes caring for the entire person, the patient, and not just the patient’s cancer.
