Excellence Conference Features Goshen Health System CEO As Keynote Speaker
Goshen, Ind. – Goshen Health System CEO, Jim Dague opened the Hospital Operational Excellence Summit Conference at the Gleacher Center in Chicago with the keynote presentation. Dague spoke about how far the hospital has come since 1994 noting the colleague turnover rate. In 1994 the colleague turnover rate was 27%. The rate was reduced to 5.2% in 2005, and GHS was named one of the top 15 places to work in Indiana in 2006. Other organizations presenting included GE Healthcare, Cigna, Chicago Medical School and Duke Health.
“By assessing the needs of the community, and responding with an environment where clinical and professional people can carry out their personal mission, we are improving the health and lifestyle of our community,” said Dague. “I don’t know how far we can push a 100 bed hospital because we aren’t done yet.”
Goshen Health System colleagues are accountable for 30 hours of continued education every year. While continually improving the quality of healthcare provided, the hospital has maintained their status as the low cost provider in the community.
