
Brent Murphy, DABR
Physicist
Brent Murphy is a board certified Physicist with over 17 years of experience. He comes to CCC/GHS from Saint Joseph's Regional Medical Center in South Bend, Indiana where he was specifically responsible for development of the radiation therapy department including, CT Simulation, 3D Treatment Planning, IMRT Implementation, BrainLab's Stereotactic Radiosurgery Program, Cordis Vascular Brachytherapy Program, and Physician Peer Review Program.
Brent began his education at Purdue University, West Lafayette, Ind., where he earned his Bachelors in Health Physics in 1986. Upon graduation, he joined the United States Army and was the Radiation Safety Officer for a Broad Scope NRC license. His responsibilities included formulating, implementation, and directing a comprehensive Radiation Protection Program in Honolulu, Hawaii. After the Army, Brent was the Clinical Therapy Physicist at Queen's Medical Center where he was responsible for all aspects of oncology physics for the largest treatment facility in the Pacific Basin. After four years at Queen's Medical Center, Brent became the Senior Medical Physicist at Saint Francis Medical Center where he was responsible for the development of a Medical Physics Department to support Hawaii's first cancer care clinic. During his time in Hawaii, he was enrolled as an M.B.A. student at Hawaii Pacific University and graduated in May 1991. Brent also received his Master of Medical Physics from University of Wisconsin, Madison in December 1993.
