Richard B. Hostetter


Associate Medical Director, Surgical Oncologist

Dr. Hostetter is a board certified general surgeon with a special certificate in surgical oncology. He is the associate director at the Center for Cancer Care, where he specializes in complex cancers of the head and neck, GI, lung, liver, esophagus, soft tissues, skin, and male and female endocrine glands. Dr. Hostetter is also a clinical assistant professor of surgery in the department of surgery at Indiana University School of Medicine.

Previously he was with the MBR Cancer Center and the University of West Virginia’s Surgical Oncology Program where he served as a well-respected practitioner and assistant professor.

Dr. Hostetter completed fellowships at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, New York. He performed a surgical residency at Chicago Medical School’s University of Health Sciences and the University of Texas Health Science Center, Houston. His medical degree was completed at the Medical College of Richmond, VA.

He has presented nationally and internationally on topics ranging from breast, esophageal, pancreatic and colorectal cancer to spiritual healing and the role of faith in medical practice. He has also written on a variety of cancer-related subjects for national and international professional publications.
